Jeff Beck Announces Solo Tour Followed by Co-Tour With ZZ Top
Living guitar legend Jeff Beck is going to be hitting the road in the Spring, first on his own and then along with ZZ Top as part of co-headlined tour. The former Yardbird will kick things off with a two-night stint from April 16 to 17 at the Paramount in Huntington, NY. After that, it’s on to shows in Port Chester, NY, Boston, and Kingston, NY. He’ll play a couple shows in New Jersey followed by a couple more in Pennsylvania, before making his way to Cedar Park, TX, to meet up with ZZ Top for a show at the Cedar Park Center on April 30. From there, the guys will play the Winstar Casino in Oklahoma on May 1 and then a couple more shows in Texas. They’ll play the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa on May 7 and head on to play shows in West Palm Beach and St. Augustine. Beck and ZZ Top will close out with a show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, GA on May 10.
Ranked by Rolling Stone has number five on their list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, ” Jeff Beck is often considered the idol for true guitar rock aficionados. Beck first gained fame as Eric Clapton’s replacement in the seminal 60’s rock band the Yardbirds, but was eventually fired from the group. He later formed both the bands the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice, before launching a decades-long solo career featuring two platinum albums and guest appearances on a variety of other artist’s records.
