Jessie Ware Bringing Her ‘Tough Love’ to the World
British songstress Jessie Ware has just announced that she’ll be kicking off a world tour this fall to promote her upcoming sophomore album, Tough Love, due in August. Ware will be kicking things off at the Wilderness Festival in Charlbury, UK, on August 7. After that, it’s on to shows around Europe with shows in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, London and more. She’ll land stateside on October 21 to play the Chapel in San Francisco and then move on to play Los Angeles and Ontario, before finishing up at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple in New York on October 28.
Although originally working as a journalist, Jessie Ware was long a fixture of the local London music scene; she shared a flat with the Maccabees guitarist Felix White and was friends with Adele. She began performing a backup singer in 2009 and eventually collaborated with members of SBTRKT, DJ Joker and Florence and the Machine. Ware released her debut album, Devotion, in August of 2012 and it eventually reached number five on the UK charts and the 79 spot on the US charts. Last year, we featured Ware in our “Spotlight” series.
