John Mayer to Make Ugly Faces in Milwaukee
John Mayer Tour
Singer/songwriter, fledging stand-up comedian, serial dater, TV show host, Taylor Swift song subject, and, oh yeah, guitar god John Mayer is hitting the road for his first tour in three years, and he’s making a stop at the gorgeous Marcus Amphitheatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 6, 2013. Previously plagued by medical issues, Mayer was forced to cancel his last touring dates due to a regrowth of a granuloma near his vocal cords – not good news for a singer. He’s touring with American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, making this show a veritable guitar-playing, singer-songwriter bonanza. Let the crooning and guitar licks begin.

Located on the south end of the Henry Maier Festival Park, the Marcus Amphitheater is an exceptional venue for Milwaukee’s spring and summer music scene. Completed in 1987, the amphitheater can hold crowds up to 25,000 screaming, cheering fans, which means it’s the perfect venue for headlining acts playing at Summerfest – the world’s largest festival, running 11 days with over 700 bands. (Coachella and Bonnaroo can’t beat that, huh?)
