Legendary rocker and bluesman Jorma Kaukonen has a new album coming out next year and is going to be hitting the road to promote it. And he’s getting some help. Kaukonen’s album, which will be titled Ain’t In No Hurry, drops on February 17, but he’ll be kicking things off a few days earlier on February 14 and 15 at McCabe’s in Santa Monica, where he’ll be joined on stage by Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams. From there, the trio will head on shows in Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Boulder, and Denver. After that, Kaukonen will perform solo for a few nights, first at the Dosey Doe in Houston on February 25 and then at the Kessler Theatre in Dallas on February 26 and Nashville’s City Winery on February 28. Kaukonen will meet with up Barry Mitterhoff at the Tally Ho Theatre in Leesburg, VA, on March 5. The two will then make their way North, playing shows in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Kaukonen and Mitterhoff will close out the tour at the Boulton Center of the Arts in Bayshore, NY on March 15.

A fingerstyle guitarist with a distinguishing sound on the electric guitar, Jorma Kaukonen came up in the Bay area music scene of the early 1960s and rose to fame as the guitarist for the seminal rock group Jefferson Airplane. He later went on to found the bands Hot Tuna and Hidden Klitz, and launch a successful solo career, which has featured numerous solo records and guest appearances on other artists’ releases. Ain’t In No Hurry is being described as a collection of classic American rock and blues songs.
