Julian Casablancas is a busy, busy guy. Besides being the front man and one of the forming members of New York City rock gods The Strokes, Casablancas has been teasing fans with the promise of a new solo album. Well, fans, ask and ye shall receive—Casablancas has just announced plans for the follow up to 2009’s Phrazes for the Young. Out September 23 via Cult Records (his own imprint), Tyranny is now available for pre-order for the “is-he-serious” price of only $3.87. To add further sweetness to this deal, Casablancas and his band, The Voidz, have announced a solid list of United States tour dates for the fall. Kicking off in Philadelphia, PA at the Electric Factory on October 16, Casablancas and company will visit Washington, D.C.; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Portland, OR; and Seattle, WA. He’ll also play with The Strokes August 20 in Las Vegas and August 24 at the FYF Festival in Los Angeles. For more information on tickets and on-sale times, visit Casablancas’ website.

With his obvious musical prowess, Casablancas is a frequent contributor on other band’s records. Most recently, he collaborated with Daft Punk on their album Random Access Memories for the song “Instant Crush.” That album won the 2013 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, netting one for Casablancas in the process.
