Call It a Comeback: Jurassic 5 to Reunite This Summer

International Summer Tour Dates
After reuniting at Coachella earlier this month, and announcing a few UK O2 Academy tour dates, Jurassic 5 appears to be back in the rap game. The legendary group have additional European tour dates, with gigs in Barcelona at Sonar Festival and Lisbon at Optimus Festival. They’ll also perform at Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata, Japan, as well as make a return to California with a slot at Outside Lands in San Francisco. Seems like a lot of travel time for a group who haven’t toured together in over six years. Keep your eyes peeled for more tour dates if/when they unfold.
Jurassic 5 Reunite On Tour
One of my favorite things as of late is reunion tours. Everyone and their mom is getting in on it and it’s win-win for most parties involved: the fans – both new and old – get to see musical idols of yesteryear, and musical titans get to bask in their former glory. It’s amazing to think that it’s already been six years after Jurassic 5 called it splitsville, but I’m happy to report that the boys are teaming up again for a reunion tour with all of the original members. If you’re unfamiliar with J5, they’re an alternative hip-hop group that transcends the genre with smart lyrics, brilliant and distinct MC skills from all members, and some really cool beats – we’re talking DMB collab, Three Dog Night sampling, and who can forget the amazing “bee-poo-do-boop” of The Influence from Quality Control back in 2000?

Word on a full scale tour is still mum, but the hip-hop all-stars are billed for this year’s Coachella Music Festival in Indio, CA, in April as well as a five-day stint across the U.K that includes the Parklife Weekender on June 8 and 9, as well as Glasgow O2 Academy on June 10, Birmingham O2 Academy on June 11, and London O2 Academy Brixton on June 13.
No offense LL, but I’m callin’ this a comeback.
