Alt country singer Justin Townes Earle released Single Mothers last month, and now he’s announced the companion record, Absent Fathers, will come out on January 15 via Vagrant Records. A companion to the first album, we’re told that the records were sequenced so as to tell a story. To support both pieces, Earle will be heading out on tour. He’ll kick things off in Louisville, KY, at Headliners Music Hall on November 7 before heading to Memphis, TN; Jackson, MS; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; New Orleans, LA; Pensacola, FL; Nashville, TN (at the Ryman Auditorium); Atlanta, GA; Asheville, NC; Knoxville, TN; Evanston, IL; and more. Born in Nashville in 1982, Justin Townes Earle has released five albums since his 2007 debut, Yuma. His 2012 album Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now, was listed at #37 on Rolling Stone’s list of the Top 50 Albums of 2012. Earle has played his share of big-time gigs, ranging from dates at the Grand Ole Opry to sets at South by Southwest and Bonnaroo.
