Kaiser Chiefs to Set Out on Tour This Summer
Kaiser Chiefs Tour
Can you believe that Kaiser Chiefs have been around for 15 years? A staple on the punk rock scene, the band has plans to release a fifth album, to be called Education, Education, Education & War, on April 1. To support the album, Kaiser Chiefs are hitting the road this summer, starting with a show June 11 in Louisville, KY at the Mercury Ballroom. The band will then continue on through Minneapolis, MN; Detroit, MI; Cleveland, OH; Washington, DC; New York, NY; and Dover, DE for a final show at the Firefly Music Festival. Tickets are available now.
Kaiser Chiefs were formed in 2000 with vocalist Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew White, bassist Simon Rix, and keyboardist Nick Baines. Inspired by New Wave and punk rock music, the band has released four studio albums, 2005’s Employment; 2007’s Yours Truly, Angry Mob; 2008’s Off With Their Heads; and 2011’s The Future is Medieval, as well as one EP, 2005’s Lap of Honour. The band’s debut was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and gained them an NME Award for Best Album as well as three Brit Awards, including the award for Best British Group.
