Kelela’s impressive live show and gorgeous voice have made her a rising R&B start to watch (she just charmed the audiences at Pitchfork Festival and FYF Fest), and now you can say you saw her when before she hits it big. Going off the power and buzz of her debut mixtape, CUT 4 ME, Kelela is heading out on her own fall tour, the American leg of which kicks off in Washington, DC at U-Street Music Hall on November 29. Kelela will then travel to San Francisco’s The Independent; Los Angeles’ Henry Fonda Auditorium; Art Basel in Miami; Bowery Ballroom in New York City; and the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. Kelela also has a few standalone singles out now, so you should check those out, too, before the show. For more information on ticketing and on sale times, visit her website.

A first-generation Ethiopian-American, Kelela grew up in Maryland. Though she sung jazz standards at cafes while still in Maryland, she moved to Los Angeles in order to better launch a music career, working with Prince William, Kingdom, and many more. Her own mixtape, CUT 4 ME, debuted in 2013 and earned recognition and praise from critics as well as peers like Solange Knowles and Björk.
