Outdoor amphitheaters around the country will hold a talented tripod of performers this summer and early fall. Original American Idol star, Kelly Clarkson, co-headlines with alternative rock band The Fray for their first tour together. The tour kicked-off on July 21st and will run into early October landing in the UK. Also, the opening act happens to be Carolina Liar, who will be performing their latest album, “Wild Blessed Freedom.”

This will not be the first time the artists perform together. Just this past year, Clarkson and The Fray sang a holiday song during the Christmas season at the “Miracle on State Street” festival in Chicago.

Due to the impulsive collaboration, Clarkson replies; “We were kind of doing a radio circuit together and we did a couple together. We got to sing a Christmas song together on stage and we just sounded really good together, so I was like: ‘Man, we should tour or something.'” If you want to see us both together we’re going to maybe sing together in the show as well. It will be cool.”

The shows will cover Clarkson’s fifth album, “Stronger” and The Frays latest album, “Scars & Stories.” For the encore, they will play mash-ups of their most popular songs and acoustic solos.
