Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band Not ‘Goin’ Home’
Blues fans, unite: the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band is releasing their new album, Goin’ Home, this spring, and to celebrate the occasion, they’re going on tour. Kicking off on May 23 in Shepherd’s hometown of Bossier City, LA at the Margaritaville Resort Casino, the tour will visit Austin, TX; Glenside, PA; Bethlehem, PA; Ridgefield, CT; Huntington, NY; New York, NY; Boston, MA; Royal Oak, Mi; Salina, KS; Dallas, TX; San Diego, TX; Los Angeles, CA; and more, before culminating at the Rockin’ the Road Concert Series in Hulett, WY on August 6. This record finds Shepherd revisiting classic songs by major artists such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Freddie King, and more, so we bet that’s what you’ll hear on the tour. Known as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has released six studio albums and one live album, with another on the way. He’s shared the stage with a number of his idols, including Pinetop Perkins, Cootie Stark, Neal Pattman, Etta Baker, Buddy Flett, Bryan Lee, Muddy Waters, and many more. He’s opened for major bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, the Eagles, and the Rolling Stones.
