Lee Ranaldo & The Dust Tour

Sonic Youth member Lee Ranaldo released his first rock solo album in 2012 (can you believe it took that long?), entitled Between The Times and the Tides, and though he toured to promote the album, he and his band didn’t quite have a name yet. Since the band is now dubbed “The Dust”, Ranaldo and company are technically about to release their debut album as a group. The double album is due out in October, and though we don’t have an official drop date or title, Lee Ranaldo & The Dust are still touring to support it (isn’t this all so mysterious?). The tour kicks off in Hudson, New York on October 8 and wraps up in Los Angeles on December 13. In between, the band will play shows in Chicago, Illinois; Madison, Wisconsin; Omaha, Nebraska; Seattle, Washington; Lawrence, Kansas; and more. Tickets are on sale now, so snag them while you can!

Long Island native Ranaldo is one of the founding members of alternative rock megaband Sonic Youth. Rolling Stone ranked Ranaldo on their “Greatest Guitarists of All Time” list at #33, and on the same list at Spin, Ranaldo and bandmate Thurston Moore tired for the #1 spot.
