LL Cool J Tour 2013
LL Cool J (fun fact: that’s short for Ladies Love Cool James) continues his two-decade long career of smooth crooning, as he and crew set off on a “Kings of the Mic Tour.” There was a mini-preview of what’s to come last week, during SXSW, at the Doritos stage in Austin (I was averse to this venue on general principle.), when Cool J performed with an all-star line-up of Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Doug E. Fresh, and DJ Z-Trip. Dough E. Fresh will be replaced by De La Soul, for a show that’ll make you feel like you never left the 80s.

The tour, though brief (late May – early July), is extensive and hits all the big US cities. The crew will be in NYC area in mid-June for performances at New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark and at Roseland Ballroom in NYC, on June 20th. LL Cool J has release twelve studio albums, making his newest album Authentic, his thirteenth studio recording (unlucky, yet impressive). It hits stores April 30th, 2013!
