The Odds Are Ever In Her Favor: Lorde to Curate ‘Hunger Games’ Music, Add New Tour Dates
Everything is coming up Lorde: Taylor Swift bestie and Kiwi Lorde has just been tapped to put together the soundtrack for the upcoming The Hunger Games movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Part 1, out November 21. Of course, she’ll contribute her own track to the bunch, but she’s also handpicking all of the other tunes that will be featured on the album. Lorde is currently on tour, and she’s also just made plans to expand the North American leg. She’s added new dates in Atlanta, GA (on September 19 at Music Midtown); Los Angeles, CA (October 6 and 7 at The Greek); Las Vegas, NV (at the iHeart Radio Music Festival); and Berkeley, CA (October 2 and 3 at Greek Theatre). Previously announced dates on this tour include stops in New York, NY; Toronto, ON; Nashville, TN; San Diego; and Austin, TX for Austin City Limits. Tickets are on sale now.
Born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor in New Zealand, Lorde released her first single, “Royals”, to instant acclaim. It debuted at No. 1 on the New Zealand Top 40 and soon followed suit on the U.S.’ Billboard Hot 100. Lorde won Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards for “Royals”, and she was also chosen as International Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards that same year.
