Electronic jammers Lotus have just announced that they’ll be starting off the New Year by heading out to promote their most recent album, The Gilded Age. The guys will be kicking things off at the Levels Nightclub in State College, PA, on January 22. After that, they’ll make their way to the upper Northeast, eventually playing New York City’s Terminal 5 on January 31. They’ll then head for a run through the South, from North Carolina to Atlanta and eventually to New Orleans, where they’ll play the House of Blues on February 11. They guys will then play a couple shows in Texas and then Phoenix, before hitting California to take the stage at Solana Beach’s Belly Up Tavern. Lotus will play up the West Coast, all the way to a show at Seattle’s the Showbox on February 22. They’ll play the Top Hat in Missoula, MT on February 24 and then head out on their tour’s final leg through the Midwest, playing (among other stops) Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Indianapolis; all before a final show the Cleveland’s House of Blues on March 8.

Formed at Indiana’s Goshen College in the late 90s, Lotus has gained a reputation for their genre-blending sound, which mixes everything from jazz to funk but is most noticeable with roots in rock and electronica. The group is also known for their intensive touring schedule and unique live shows that combine complicated stage lighting and improvisational sets. The Gilded Age is the band’s twelfth album.
