M.I.A. Announces Double-Header at NYC’s Terminal 5
M.I.A. Tour
Sri Lankan rapper-come-fashion-designer-come-Super-Bowl-bird-flipper, M.I.A., is set to release her fourth album – Matangi (her real name) – on November 5. The sometimes controversial musician has not announced a full promotional tour of the album yet, but she will be playing two gigs in New York City next month. Originally, she had only booked one show at Terminal Five on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, but due to overwhelming demand she has added a second. The two performances take place on November 11 & 14, tickets are on sale now.

So what else has the 38-year-old M.I.A. been up to since 2010’s Maya? For starters, she’s designed a fashion line with stunning, amazing, queen of couture Donatella Versace herself. According to M.I.A., the collection is based on a theme of counterfeits: “Versace’s designs have always been copied, now it’s Versace that copies the copies, so those that copy must copy the copies. So this will continue.” The line hits stores October 16.
