Mac Demarco Takes ‘2’ Around the World

If you’re looking for one of the more bizarre and funky live shows to cross a stage near you, self-appointed “jizz-jazz” artist Mac DeMarco has announced a world tour for this fall. The 23 Mac DeMarco tour dates on his scheduled include time in North America, Europe and Asia, so the guy with one of the more interesting live shticks in music today is truly taking his tour around the globe. The only Mac DeMarco concert currently on the docket in the US, though, will be at the Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin, TX, on November 8, so make your plans quickly if you’re a huge fan of the Canadian musician. He played a free show a month ago in NYC and Bonnaroo 2013, but it’s not clear the next time he plans on a full blown US tour.

These Mac DeMarco tour dates are in support of his latest album, 2, which is now a year old. The album received some buzz from Pitchfork – and he’s playing their Halloween Festival in Paris on this tour – and commercial licensing from Target. Despite these more mainstream successes, Mac DeMarco concerts will remain a bit of a spectacle, for he thinks it let’s the crowd get a little goofy and really have fun with his music.
