Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Tour

Got an outfit ready? Get ready to pop some tags, because Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are coming to an arena near you! Starting in Portland, OR, on October 22, the guys and their band (presumably) will visit University Park, PA; New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, Boise, ID; New Orleans (for Voodoo Fest) and Chicago, to name a few. The tour wraps up in Seattle, WA, (the duo’s hometown, natch) on December 12. Who else is on the tour as pseudo-openers, you ask? Well, none other than Talib Kweli and Big K.R.I.T. Need to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in action? A ticket pre-sale has already started, and general tickets go on sale on June 28. Get them while you can, because they’re about to go fast (their overseas dates are mostly sold out already).

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ascent to the top of the charts has been a quick one. Though Macklemore (aka Benjamin Haggerty) himself released a mixtape, three EPs, and two albums, he didn’t receive national acclaim until he paired up with producer Ryan Lewis. Their debut single, “Thrift Shop,” has been viewed over 350 million times on YouTube, sold over 2.2 million copies, and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s the first time since 1994 that a song hit the top of the charts without the support of a major label. A debut studio album, The Heist, hit shelves in October 2012 and went straight to No. 2. Not bad!
