Marco Benevento to Release Album, Tour This Fall
Singer/songwriter/pianist/musical trailblazer Marco Benevento has just announced plans for his upcoming album, to be called Swift. Not only will this new disc show off Benevento as a piano player but as a vocalist, as well. This new offering will be released on September 16, and to promote it, Benvento will of course be heading out on tour. Kicking off on July 11 at the Hudson Music Project in Saugerties, NY, he’ll also play shows in Denver, CO; Hancock, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Portland, ME; Washington, DC; Columbus, OH; Cleveland, OH; St. Louis, MO; Indianapolis, IN; Nashville, TN; and Atlanta, GA; with a final show December 13 at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Livingston, NJ, Marco Benevento came to prominence in the New York experimental music (mostly rock and jazz) scene that flourished at the end of the last century. He is the founder and recording engineer of Fred Short, a recording studio located in upstate New York. He has released six studio albums (the last, TigerFace, came out in 2012). He also plays in bands such as Garage A Trois and Bustle in Your Hedgerow.
