Marianas Trench Dig Deep For Upcoming Tour

Canada’s prized pop-rockers Marianas Trench have just announced the first round of tour dates for what’s sure to be a mega North American concert series. The four-piece ensemble will kick things off almost one month from now, at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, WA, on May 16. Their spring and summer jaunt continues with a gig in Portland, OR, on the 17th, followed by a string of shows along both the East and West coasts (with a few Southern performances thrown in for good measure) through June 15.

The Vancouver natives have named themselves after a nifty natural phenomenon: Marianas Trench refers to the deepest part of the world’s oceans. The trench is located to the east of the Mariana islands in the Pacific Ocean, and, so far as we know, is 6.8 miles deep at its deepest point. It’s quite a name to live up to, though the successful Juno award-winners have only done it proud. Tickets to Marianas Trench’s upcoming round of shows are on sale now, but rumor has it the band will announce even more dates come Monday, April 15, so be sure to check back here as even more discount deals become available!
