Maroon 5’s fifth studio album, V, dropped literally today, so we’re a bit surprised that it took Adam Levine and company this long to announce some world tour dates (probably delayed by Levine’s busy movie-making and The Voice-judging schedule). In any case, Maroon 5 is going on tour next year! They’ll start things off on February 16 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX, and then continue onto Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; Sunrise, FL; Nashville, TN; Boston, MA; New York, NY (at Madison Square Garden); East Rutherford, NJ; Louisville, KY; Chicago, IL; St. Paul, MN; and San Jose, CA, among others, before finishing up in Inglewood, CA on April 3 at The Forum. After their American dates, Maroon 5 will fly to Europe for dates in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and more. Support for the tour will be provided by this summer’s earworm band, Magic! (if you say “Rude” is not stuck in your head, you are lying), and singer Rozzi Crane. Tickets go on sale Saturday, September 13. Visit Maroon 5’s website for further details.

Formed in 1994 as Kara’s Flowers, Maroon 5’s original members consisted of Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, and Ryan Dusick. When their album flopped, each member went to college and regrouped, this time with James Valentine, to form Maroon 5. So what does the band’s name mean? No one (except for the band, of course) knows—they’ve kept it a very tightly guarded secret.
