Martina McBride and holidays just go together. Beyond her women’s liberation/American freedom anthem “Independence Day,” the country legend has spent the better part of a decade celebrating the winter holiday season with a series of Christmas concerts.

Her ninth run of Christmas dates will bring her from Biloxi to Boston and back down to St. Louis over the first three weeks of December. The Joy of Christmas Tour starts in Mississippi on November 29 at the Beau Rivage Theatre. From there, McBride heads all the way up to Minnesota for a show at Mystic Lake Casino. An East Coast run takes Mcbride to Philadelphia’s Met and Newark’s Union County Performing Arts Center. The tour closes out in the Midwest with shows at the Rialto Square Theatre and Lindenwood University.

“This show is so much fun to do,” McBride said. “We have everything from classic hymns like ‘O Holy Night’ to fun, big band swing classics like ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.’ It’s all very visual, the songs are well-loved, and you leave with a warm feeling. I love to think of entire families—from grandparents to grandchildren—enjoying The Joy of Christmas. It’s really a show for the whole family.”
