A “Festival of Light” & “An Acoustic Evening” with Matisyahu
Matisyahu is set to kick off his “Festival of Light” tour this coming December in celebration of Hanukkah, but is also now making plans to tour extensively across the nation in 2013. With the news of his new tour called “An Acoustic Evening with Matisyahu,” the artist will unplug and give his fans a very intimate look into his creative process, answering questions and performing acoustic versions of songs from his catalog over the years. The tour is timed with the release of his new EP entitled “Spark Seeker: The Acoustic EP,” set to drop on January 15.
As for the tour, it will kick off officially on January 19 in Miami at Knight Concert Hall and will visit cities that include Tucson, Louisville, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Hartford, Annapolis and Tampa before wrapping up on February 24 in West Palm Beach at the Kravis Center. PREVIOUS TOUR NEWS
Matisyahu, the Grammy-nominated rapper who brought us “King Without a Crown,” has announced the dates for his annual Festival of Light tour. The eight-day stint is in celebration of Hanukkah, and runs from December 8 to December 16. For the first time in the history of the tour, it will kick off on the West Coast with a performance at Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco, CA. The following seven shows all take place on the East Coast, with stops in Georgia, Pennsylvania, D.C., and New York. This tour will mark Matisyahu’s first performance at the new Portchester, NY, venue, Capitol Theatre, which will be his last stop on the road.
The Festival of Light tour will serve as a way for the religious rapper to perform a mix of old and new material, and pick fan favorites from his musical archive. Four of the seven shows will be acoustic, and the three will feature backing from his band, The Dub Trio. His latest album, Spark Seeker, peeked at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.
