Matisyahu To Celebrate The Festival Of Lights
When winter comes, most of us expect a few things: snow (in the appropriate parts of the country), shorter days, and… Matisyahu‘s “Festival of Light” annual concert run. And though we have yet to see the snow, the shorter days are upon us and so is the tour. Taking place during Hanukkah (because, duh, it’s the literal Festival of Lights), Matis will play shows in Chicago, IL; Kalamazoo, MI; Boston, MA; and New York City, to name a few, with a final show in Washington, D.C. Tickets are available now, and we’re thinking they’d make a perfect holiday gift!
Matis got his start blending traditional Jewish themes with reggae, rock and beatboxing. His first hit was 2005’s “King Without A Crown,” which was a top 40 hit in the United States. Currently, Matisyahu is working on a new studio album expected to be released next summer. Stu Brooks and Joel Hamilton are producing the album, with Brooklyn’s Dub Trio backing up.
