Matisyahu Confirms 2014 Festival of Lights
Whether lighting the menorah for Hanukkah or trimming that tree for Christmas (or neither or both), one thing we have in common is that we can all appreciate good music. A holiday tradition in its own right, Matisyahu’s Festival of Light tour dates for this year have been announced! The Orthodox Jewish rapper will kick things off on December 15 at the Virgin Mobile Corona Theatre in Montreal, QC. Next, Matisyahu will head to Burlington, VT; Portland, ME (at the State Theatre); Clifton Park, NY; Boston, MA (at House of Blues); New York, NY (at Best Buy Theater); Huntington, NY; Washington, DC; Philadelphia, PA; Ridgefield, CT; Northampton, MA; and many more. Joining Matisyahu will be his band, Dub Trio, and guitar player Aaron Dugan. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday, October 10, at 10:00am via Matisyahu’s website, so pick some up and embrace that holiday spirit.
Matthew Paul Miller is better known as Hebrew and stage name Matisyahu, meaning “Gift of God”. He’s recognized musically for blending together themes of his Orthodox Judaism with reggae, rock, and hip hop to create his own sound. Matisyahu exploded onto the rap scene in 2005 with single “King Without a Crown”, and since 2004, he has released four studio albums, two live albums, two remix albums, and two DVDs of his live concerts.
