The last time we posted about Maxwell was back in June when the soul man announced the cancellation of his summer tour by order of his doctors. With his vocal cords now sufficiently rested, he has booked two tour dates this coming November.

Being called the “World Winter Warm Up” Maxwell will perform in Atlantic City at the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa on November 23 and in Mashantucket, Connecticut at the MGM Grand At Foxwoods on November 24. The dates will be the first official tour dates for Maxwell since 2010. According to Pollstar, he will perform new songs from his upcoming album as well as selections from his catalog.

Tickets for the two East Coast shows are on sale now and the best deals on all Maxwell tickets can be found right here at SeatGeek.

Maxwell has been ordered by his doctors to give his vocal cords a complete rest after developing “definitive vocal cord enema and a vocal cord hemorrhage” according to his website. As a result, he has cancelled his summer tour dates in Los Angeles (July 20 & July 21), Atlanta (July 27 & July 28) and Newark (August 3 & August 4).

In the press release on his site, the R&B singer states, ““I know this sucks but after many months of recording I’ve temporarily damaged my voice. I’ve had issues before during other tours, but was able to power through. I’ve been strongly advised to rest and undergo treatment. I look forward to hopefully seeing you next on our full fledged tour, when the sequel to the BLACKSUMMERS’NIGHT trilogy is released. My deepest apologies to those who made the effort to try and see the show. Love and Thanks, M”

Tickets purchased online or over the phone will be automatically credited to the credit card of purchase. For tickets bought in person, refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Maxwell To Play Full Length Albums During Summer Arena Dates

Maxwell, one of the shining stars in R&B and soul music today, is taking his catalog to the masses this summer with a series of very cool shows in Los Angeles, Newark and Atlanta. The singer and musician revealed that he will play all of his albums in their entirety during the two night stand in each city.

On the first night of each stop, Maxwell and his backing band will play his albums “Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite” and “Embrya” in their full glory. On the second night in each city, the 11 piece band and the singer will play his albums “Now” and “BLACKsummer’s night” in their entirety.

The Los Angeles dates take place July 20-21 at the Staples Center. The Atlanta dates are scheduled for July 27-28 at Philips Arena. The Newark dates at the Prudential Center are set for August 3-4. These dates are the first live shows for Maxwell since 2010 and the first time he has played his full albums live in his career.
