Looks like even bats outta Hell have to fold their wings sometime. Meat Loaf, the operatic rock singer who only recently toured the United States, has announced his upcoming concert series will be his last. The Last at Bat Tour will kick off in the United Kingdom next April, boasting dates in Newcastle, Glasgow, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Manchester, and Sheffield, before wrapping up with six shows in Germany. Each concert will see the musician acting out a dual performance (naturally, for the role-playing aficionado), as the shows, split into halves, will feature both his greatest hits (Act I) and a live performance of his seminal album, Bat Out of Hell, in its entirety (Act II). We’re hoping the singer will bring his bravura brand of rock n’ roll to the US next summer, so be sure to check back here for all updates on Meat Loaf’s farewell tour – and discount tickets!
It’s going to make for a mad, mad time when music’s self-proclaimed Bat Out of Hell unleashes his seminal brand of theater rock on the masses this coming fall. Having spent over 40 years recording some of the genre’s biggest hits, starring in some of film’s biggest cult successes, and shattering some of Billboard’s biggest sales records, Meat Loaf isn’t slowing down. His Mad, Mad World tour kicks off in Minnesota October 19, finishing up at New York’s famed Beacon Theatre November 1.
