MØ Plans North American Fall Tour
Hailing from Denmark, pop singer MØ is sure breaking through to America. She’s already been on one headlining tour in the States in support of No Mythologies to Follow, her debut LP, (she also went on Jimmy Kimmel Live) and now she’s planning a return voyage this fall. Kicking off in Washington, DC at 9:30 Club on September 22, MØ’s tour will visit 14 cities in North America through October. Also on the tour’s docket? Shows in Boston, MA; New York, NY (at Webster Hall); Philadelphia, PA; Montreal, QC; Lawrence, KS (at The Granada Theater); Los Angeles, CA; Portland, OR; and, finally, Vancouver, BC, on October 22. Born Karen Marie Ørsted in Odense, Denmark, MØ’s stage name means “maiden” or “virgin” in Danish. She’s had quite the run in her home country with her single “Pilgrim” hitting No. 11 on the Danish charts. The song was dubbed a “P3s Uundgåelige” (or P3 Unavoidable) by Danish radio station DR P3—a label that means MØ is a definitely an artist to look out for. Another reason to love her? She’s confessed multiple times in interviews her love for the ultimate girl group, the Spice Girls.
