Modest Mouse ‘Breathes Salty’ to North American Tour
Modest Mouse set up some dates with Brand New this summer, and they’re turning these shows into a full-fledged tour. The band will spend July and August playing gigs in North America, starting off on July 11 in Saugerties, NY as a part of The Hudson Project. Next, Modest Mouse will play shows in Columbus, OH; Kansas City, MO; Missoula, MT; Boise, ID; Pemberton, BC (at the Pemberton Music Festival); Edmonton, AB; London, ON; Montreal, QC; and Toronto, ON. Their last gig of the tour is one of those aforementioned dates with Brand New on August 9 at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens, NY. Support for the tour comes in the form of Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew and Mimicking Birds. On-sale dates for tickets depend on your show, but most hit the market on Friday, June 6 or Friday, June 13. Tickets for the Forest Hills show are available now.
Issaquah, Washington-formed Modest Mouse hasn’t released an album since 2007’s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, and fans are eagerly awaiting even a dribble of news about new material. For now, they’ll just have to console themselves with the fact that their favorite band is at least still touring.
