moe. Tour

Jam band extraordinaire moe. has announced a winter tour lineup for January and February to kick off 2014 in style before they head abroad for their Spring European tour. These nine 2014 moe. tour dates are all along the east coast of the US, kicking off in New Jersey and winding its way south before doubling back to finish in Delaware. Two of the dates – in Charleston, SC, and Charlotte, NC – will be supported by The Ringers, a side project led by Widespread Panic guitarist Jimmy Herring. Herring’s solo and side work was featured at last year’s Christmas Jam, hosted annually by Warren Haynes, so these two dates offer a special edition to the already popular jam sessions hosted by moe.

Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of moe. back at the University of Buffalo back in 1989. Since their founding, moe. concerts have been staples of the summer festival scene, an environment which forged a connection with other improv rockers like Widespread Panic and Umphrey’s McGee. Moe. has only released one album since 2008 – 2012’s What Happened to the LA LA’s – but moe. fans shouldn’t worry about a lack of new material being played during these US tour dates. The group’s ability to identify various inspirations and rearrange those songs as only they know how tend to make every moe. live performance a unique experience. East coast jam fans are lucky to have these nine moe. concerts on their radar, for it should offer the group in smaller environments before they return from Europe to the larger venues of the 2014 music festival scene.
