Mount Eerie to Promote ‘Sauna’ on the Road
Mount Eerie (also known as singer-songwriter Phil Elverum) has been prolific with his releases in the past few years—he dropped two full-length albums in 2012, and in 2013, he reissued the Microphone’s entire back catalog, released a live album and a studio album, Pre-Human Ideas. What’s next? It’s been announced that Sauna will arrive in 2015. To promote all of this music, Mount Eerie is hitting the road, starting September 10 in Dayton, WA at Mace Mead Works. From there, he’ll visit Boise, ID; Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO (at Goldrush Music Fest); Lawrence, KS; Bloomington, IN; Youngstown, OH; Purchase, NY; New York, NY (at Le Poisson Rouge); Chicago, IL; and Minneapolis, MN; before ending in Minot, ND at Pangea House on September 29. Mecca Normal will provide support for some of these dates. For on-sale times and ticketing information, visit Mount Eerie’s website.
Phil Elverum, the man behind Mount Eerie, is based out of Anacortes, WA. He started out under the moniker The Microphones, but after releasing (under that name) an album called Mount Eerie, well, he decided he liked that one better. Besides his music, Elverum has released a hardcover coffee-table book, Mount Eerie pts 6& 7.
