MusiCares Will Honor Bruce Springsteen as 2013 Person of the Year
MusiCares Tribute to Bruce Springsteen
MusiCares, the foundation established in 1989 as a resource for musicians who are facing financial, personal or medical hardships, has chosen their 2013 honoree: The Boss! That’s right, folks, the one and only Bruce Springsteen will be honored at the annual event, held on February 8 in Los Angeles, as Person of the Year. Paying tribute to Springsteen will be Neil Young, Mumford & Sons and Eddie Vedder, along with a slew of other greats like Elton John, Sting and Emmy-Lou Harris. While we urge you to check below to see SeatGeek’s ticket offerings for the event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that this will also air live on CBS.

It’s no secret that Bruce Springsteen has had an extremely prolific career. A New Jersey native, he started performing in 1969 and has since earned himself 20 Grammy Awards, several Golden Globes, an Academy Award (so he can act, too?!), and was ranked by Rolling Stone as the 23rd Greatest Artist of all time. Springsteen is also a strong activist for gay rights and gay marriage, and has spoken publicly about those issues many times. With all of his accomplishments and accolades, it’s no wonder he’s been chosen as the MusiCares Person of the Year. Rock on, Bruce. Rock on.
