2013 NBA Season Preview – Eastern Conference
2013-14 NBA Tickets
The NBA preseason is underway, providing fans their first glimpses at the newest version of their favorite professional basketball teams. The 2013-14 NBA Season for the Eastern Conference will be about one thing: who can finally unseat the Miami Heat for the right to represent all 15 teams in the NBA Finals? MVP LeBron James is back with Dwayne Wade and a cast of accomplished role players to try and win three straight titles. A Miami Heat Three-peat would be the first such accomplishment in the league since the 2002 Los Angeles Lakers and the first NBA Eastern Conference team since Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls did so in 1993 and 1998. The young core of the Indiana Pacers have tested Miami for two straight years; is this finally the year they are able to overcome The King & Company in the playoffs?

The other prime contenders in the NBA Eastern Conference are familiar – the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks – and the new – the Brooklyn Nets. Chicago is finally getting back its one-time MVP Derrick Rose after a devastating knee injury two playoffs ago, and the revamped Knicks are ready to run time and again with scoring machine Carmelo Anthony. The Brooklyn Nets are a high-spending veteran team, adding Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Andre Kirilenko in the offseason to handle the front court for back court all stars Joe Johnson and Deron Williams. Garnett and Pierce landing in Brooklyn mean that their old team, the Boston Celtics, is now in full rebuild, with coach Doc Rivers also out the doors. Can veteran savvy keep up with the new offensive stylings of Miami and New York? Will the Midwest toughness of Chicago and Indiana stifle the opposition and finally win the day in the NBA playoffs? Everything depends on the 2013-14 NBA regular season, and it all starts with game one in October. Indiana Pacers Tickets
In the heart of basketball country, the Indiana Pacers have returned to a high level of play that makes professional basketball in the state of Indiana just as legit as the multitude of high school and college programs in b-ball’s heartland.
Chicago Bulls Tickets
Derrick Rose is finally back, and the Bulls were gritty and talented enough to do pretty well in his absence last postseason. The defense is always intense, and now they’re scoring machine is back at full steam.
New York Knicks Tickets
Small ball took the Big Apple by storm last season, and Carmelo Anthony & crew will be back at it this year. If Tyson Chandler can continue running the defense just so, they’ll outscore a lot of teams during the 2013-14 NBA season. Watch out, Miami.
