If you’ve ever wanted an intimate evening with R&B singer Ne-Yo, you’re about to get your chance (although it might not as up close and personal as we’re sure some of his fans wish). The Grammy Award-winner has just announced that he’ll be hitting the road throughout October and into November with a series of cozy shows across the United States. Ne-Yo will kick things off at the Warfield in San Francisco on October 12. From there, it’s on to a couple more shows in California and then the House of Blues in Las Vegas on October 17, followed by shows in Dallas and Houston. He’ll perform at the Tabernacle in Atlanta on October 23 and then head on to Myrtle Beach, making his way North from there to play in North Carolina and Maryland. He’ll finish up the tour at Chicago’s House of Blues on November 2.

Born Shaffer Chimere Smith, Ne-Yo (whose stage name is a reference to the Matrix franchise because, as on producer described it, he “sees music like Neo sees the matrix”) first made a name for himself as a songwriter, penning tracks for the likes of Marques Houston, Teedra Moses and Mario. His 2006 debut album, In My Own Words, became certified platinum, along with two of his following four albums. Ne-Yo’s next album, Non Fiction, is set for a November 11 release date.
