Nickel Creek Ends Nine Year Hiatus with a Tour & New Album
Nickel Creek Tour
If it seems like you have not heard from Nickel Creek in a while, that’s because they’ve been on a nine year hiatus since the release of their last album. But that’s all about to change in 2014 with the release of a new album and tour this spring. The acoustic trio – which consists of a mandolin player, a fiddle player, and a guitarist, with two of the musicians being blood relatives – will release their seventh album which includes their new song “Destination.” We hope that we won’t have to wait another nine years to hear from them again.

The tour will commence at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, where the band will perform two shows on April 18 and April 19. The tour will continue out East, stopping at the Beacon Theatre in New York, NY, on April 29 and in Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club on May 3. You can catch the band in Oakland, CA, on May 19 at the Fox Theatre before they perform at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, CO, starting June 19. While the tour may seem short, Nickel Creek has planned to schedule additional festival dates in the future.
