Niki & The Dove Ditch Sweden, Head to North America for 2013 Tour
Niki & The Dove have announced North American tour dates for January of next year. The action starts on January 10, with a gig at Union Transfer in Philly. This show marks the first of many that take place on the East Coast, including a stop at Bowery Ballroom in NYC on January 12. After a couple Canadian dates, the band heads to the West Coast, rounding our their tour with five California shows. The finale takes place on January 30, at The Barn in Riverside, CA.

Never heard of this three-piece “indietronica” (yes, that’s a word now) band from Sweden? Not that surprising, seeing as they only formed two years ago, and have just one studio album under their belt. Instinct was released on Sub Pop/Mercury Records in May of this year, and peaked at No. 60 on both the Swedish and UK album charts. Despite their short career, Niki & The Dove have already been nominated for BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll, and were honored as the winners of the 2013 European Border Breakers Awards, which recognizes the best new music acts in Europe.
