While the last few years have been relatively quiet on the Nine Inch Nails front, to say Trent Reznor hasn’t been working would be an insult. Along with his frequent collaborator Atticus Ross, Reznor has been serving up slabs of moody and atmospheric synth for movies like Bird Box and HBO’s Watchmen sequel series. Folks who want to hear “Head Like A Hole” in a live space at a deafening volume might be in luck, though. Reznor seems ready to tour, according to a new interview with Revolver.

The magazine is careful to not quote Reznor directly. However, they say that both Reznor and Ross are open to the idea of a tour and releasing new music in 2020.

“But Nine Inch Nails is not forgotten. The band recently released ‘the definitive edition’ of its 2005 album With Teeth, and in 2020, Reznor and Ross plan to take the group back out on tour, as well as record new NIN music,” they wrote.

The interview was in-studio, which is definitely promising. Should they tour, it will be the first time on the road since their much-lauded trek in 2018. The group haven’t released any new music since 2018. That’s when they closed a trilogy of EPs with Bad Witch, a jazzy release that sprawled out and away from the trilogy’s concept and ended up being a whole album.

Should NIN announce a tour, the dates will be shared on SeatGeek. Keep an eye on this space for more updates.
