Norah Jones Heading to Aussie for the First Time in 7 Years
Norah Jones has announced that she will tour Australia in support of her newest album, Little Broken Hearts. The five-date tour will kick off on February 15 in Sydney at the State Theatre – perhaps a good belated Valentine’s Day present? Jones then heads to Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide. It wraps up on February 24 in Perth at Riverside Theatre. This will be the singer’s first time in Australia since 2003.
The album was released on April 25, and peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200. Danger Mouse came on board to produce the record, and it marks Jones’ fifth LP to date. It has been referred to as “the most dramatic and rewarding departure she’s made in her career,” and was performed by the jazz siren at the 2012 SXSW festival in its entirety. Since she burst onto the music scene in 2001, Jones has earned herself nine Grammy Awards and has sold 50 million albums worldwide. She’s collaborated with artists such as the Foo Fighters, Willie Nelson, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Outkast. Her debut album, Come Away with me, went platinum eleven times.
