Update

The always-entertaining of Montreal has announced dates for a US tour. The shows will take place through the month of May, and kick off on May 3 at Grand Central in Miami, FL. After that it’s off to the West Coast for a May 9 show at L.A.‘s Echoplex, and on May 21 they finally touch down on the East Coast with a performance in Boston, MA, at the Paradise Rock Club. The tour wraps up on May 28 with a show in Honolulu, HI, at Republik. You can also check them out on March 8 at Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA.

Good news for of Montreal fans! Not only did they release their 11th studio album, Paralytic Stalks, this past February, but the experimental pop band has just announced that on October 23 they will make available a collection of unreleased and out-of-print or rare songs, called Daughter of Cloud. While this may seem exciting enough, the real icing on the cake is that they’re also going to be touring for the majority of the year’s remainder, with shows sprinkled throughout September, October, November, and December.

The tour kicks off on September 25 with a performance in Gainseville, FL, at the Reitz Union Rion Ballroom, and makes stops in California, Texas, Illinois, and New York. They wrap things up on December 15 with a performance in Carrboro, NC, at Cat’s Cradle. of Montreal is known for a unique musical style, combining a mixture of electronica, funk and glam, plus upbeat and catchy vocals. Their most recent album – recorded in their hometown of Athens, GA – has been received well critically, garnering a 62 out of 100 from Metacritic.
