One Direction will play London's O2 Arena early next year.

Although they’re a mega-moneymaking supergroup now, back when they made their debut on the United Kingdom’s X Factor in 2010, the members of One Direction were unknowns – even to each other. Simon Cowell and his group of celeb judges decided Harry Stiles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne would fare better in competition if they participated as a group, rather than as the solo performers each intended to be.

As if the blandness of recent Cowell-less American Idol seasons weren’t proof enough, why would we ever doubt Simon?

We’ve got One Direction’s O2 Arena tour dates, as well as ticket links to the performances, below. If you’re nearby but can’t make the London shows, keep scrolling for ticket links to the rest of the boys’ 2013 UK performances.

About The O2 Arena

The former Millenium Dome currently ranks among the world’s most popular concert halls. Within the UK, it’s second in size only to another English venue, Manchester Arena in Manchester, England – the same venue The O2 displaced as the world’s “busiest” music arena back in 2008. The building was given its current name by its sponsor, the monolithic phone provider “Telefonica UK Limited” or “Telefonica Europe,” which more commonly (and accessibly) goes by the trade name of O2. Although there are several O2 arenas located throughout Europe, the London venue is the only one in which the name of the city where it’s located isn’t included in either the official or colloquial title (such as The O2 Dublin, O2 Prague, etc.). If someone mentions the O2, it’s the London site, otherwise known as the future home of One Direction’s February tour stops, that’s internationally understood.
