Jam bands never really go away. Even the longest of hiatuses are just that, a break. Look no further than jam-band supergroup Oysterhead, who just shared their first tour dates in over a decade.
The group — made up of Phish‘s Trey Anastasio, Primus‘ Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland of The Police — will play at least two dates in 2020. Similar to Ween, the group just announced back-to-back shows starting on Valentine’s Day. Oysterhead’s shows will take place at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
The band hasn’t played together since 2006, when they appeared at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in 2006. Given that the band formed out of a festival set (namely the 2000 SuperJam at Jazz Fest), it’s not entirely out of the question that the band might pop up at a few more fests before the summer is over.
The band hasn’t released an album since 2000’s The Grand Pecking Order, and they haven’t announced any new material, but they just launched several social media accounts that might portend new music from the group.
Tickets go on sale on October 19. Check out the known tour dates below.
