Progressive jam band Particle has just confirmed a series of fall tour dates set to take them all over the country. They’ll start things off with a show in Raleigh, NC, at the Southland Ballroom on October 28 before visiting cities like Charleston, SC; Live Oak, FL; New Orleans, LA; Austin, TX (at The Parish Austin); Louisville, KY; Indianapolis, IN; Cleveland, OH; Buffalo, NY (at Iron Works); Worcester, MA (at Electric Haze); and, finally, Brooklyn, NY at the Brooklyn Bowl on November 13. Post-tour, the band will be recording some new tunes and is planning for another tour to promote them. For ticketing information, visit Particle’s website.

Particle formed in 2000 with guitarist Dave Simmons, keyboardist Steve Molitz, bassist Eric Gould, and drummer Darren Pujalet. Along with bands like The Disco Biscuits and Sound Tribe Sector 9, they’re considered groundbreakers in the genre of progressive livetronica—a fusion of rock, jazz, funk, and electronic music. Pre-2006, Particle’s music was completely instrumental. They describe their tunes as “space porn”, a term coined by a fan. The band has released three albums since 2000.
