Fall Tour Dates
After several performances overseas and rumors of a new album, Pearl Jam has finally released their fall tour dates. The shows kick off on October 11 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA, followed by stints in Brooklyn, Philly and North Carolina. The second leg of their begins with a show at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX, and the band will also spend time in California, Oregon and Washington. After two Canada gigs, the tour wraps up in their hometown of Seattle on December 6. Tickets for the shows go on sale July 27. Click below for a full list of dates, plus all the latest PJ news.
Big things poppin’ for Pearl Jam, who earlier this year announced plans for a South American tour as well as a gig in London and Chicago. Now, we’ve learned from guitarist Mike McCready that they are releasing an album “this year, for sure.” Hooray! While the album is only in the demo stage, McCready says it will likely be an extension of their previous effort, Backspacer, but with a more experimental edge. They’ll also be working with Brendan O’Brien, who has produced four of their previous records. Perhaps the new music will be accompanied by new tour dates? Stay tuned for more news as it rolls in.
Pearl Jam 2013 Concerts
According to their website, Pearl Jam have announced two July shows plus a slew of fall tour dates yet to come. The first confirmed show will take place in London, Ontario, at the Budweiser Gardens on July 16. After that, they’ll head to Chicago to perform at Wrigley Field on July 19. Tickets go on sale to the public for both shows on February 9.
Besides the July gigs, the kings of ’90s grunge will also head overseas to perform at some festivals in the spring. This includes two stops on the Lollapalooza tour, as well as a performance in Buenos Aires at Constanera Sur Festival on April 3. While they really require no introduction, Pearl Jam has been performing and recording music as a unit since 1990. Their debut album, Ten, produced hit singles such as “Alive,” “Even Flow” and “Jeremy,” and helped spur the grunge explosion during that time period. Their most recent release, Backspacer, received 4 out of 5 stars from Rolling Stone Magazine – they still got it! To date, the band has sold an estimated 60 million records worldwide, and are considered one of the most influential bands of the decade.
