Peter Gabriel Adds New UK Dates to His ‘Back to Front’ Tour
Legendary English rocker Peter Gabriel has announced additional tour dates in the United Kingdom to his already in progress “Back to Front” arena tour. After playing stadiums in parts of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia in May, Gabriel and crew will kick off this newly announced leg at Birmingham LG Arena on November 28. From there it’s one to shows in Sheffield on November 30 and Cardiff on December 1. And then on December 3, Gabriel will play London’s Wembley Arena for the first time in a decade. After that, there will be shows in Liverpool, Aberdeen, and the final concert of the tour (at least for now) at Dublin’s 02 Arena on December 10.
First rising to musical fame in the early 1970s as the lead singer of the band Genesis, Peter Gabriel eventually struck out on his own as a solo artist — releasing nine albums on his own. In 2012, he announced the “Back to Front” tour, which would feature Gabriel and many of the musicians with whom he recorded his bestselling 1986 album So, which spawned many of Gabriel’s best known songs. Each of the concerts on the tour are organized in three sets, one acoustic and one electric set (both of which include hits from throughout Gabriel’s career), and a final live rendition of So in the song order that it was originally intended.
