Phish Make Plans for New Year’s Eve in Miami
It’s nearly October, folks, and it’s about that time—time for all the bands to announce their New Year’s Eve plans. Phish always plays a nice residency, and this year is no different. The band recently announced their plans to play a four-night run at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL from December 31 to January 3. Phish hasn’t performed in Miami since New Year’s Eve 2009, so what a perfect way for area fans to usher in 2015! The ticket lottery period is in progress and ends Sunday, September 28 at 11:59pm ET, so get your names in for a chance to attend. A four-day ticket bundle is available, but beware—you can’t buy a four-day bundle and a one-day ticket. Gotta save some room for other fans.
Known for their improvisation, extended jams, and blending of musical genres, Phish was formed at the University of Vermont in 1983 when Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman, and Page McConnell got together to jam. Though the band doesn’t have much in the way of mainstream exposure, they have a large and dedicated following, with many of their fans trailing as they go on tour.
