Preservation Hall Jazz Band Kick off Residency at McKittrick Hotel
New Orleans-based Preservation Hall Jazz Band have just kicked off a residency at The McKittrick Hotel. They’re calling the stint at the hotel the “Crescent City Stomp,” and the 11-night, New Orleans-themed affair will feature surprise guest performances, Southern-inspired cuisine and cocktails, and plenty of room to cut a rug! The McKittrick run began on January 3, and will continue through the 13th. You may remember the McKittrick from when it was home to the Sleep No More play, whose run ended back in November.
Preservation Hall Jazz Band is a combination of traditional Dixieland and Preservation Hall jazz bands from New Orleans, LA. Since its formation in the ’60s, the group has aimed to preserve the music and culture of the South. The band, who got their start performing throughout the French Quarter of Nola, have now been touring the United States for more than 25 years with the goal of bringing the distinctive musical style to contemporary audiences. Come see this slice of Southern history when they perform at the McKittrick Hotel for the next 10 days.
