Funk metal giants Primus have announced that their upcoming tour will be a tribute to Rush, performing their album “A Farewell To Kings” in its entirety at each show. While Primus did plan to perform a Rush tribute tour in late 2019, they postponed it to join Slayer on tour. With the passing of Rush drummer Neil Peart in early January, Primus’s A Tribute to Kings tour now holds more poignancy and meaning than ever.

‘A Tribute To Kings’ is set to be an impressive 40-date tour, kicking off on May 26 at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX. Wolfmother, The Sword, and Battles will also be joining them at specific shows throughout the duration of the tour. When June rolls around, Primus will make a pit stop to perform at Bonnaroo Music Festival. After a slew of southern shows, the band hits the East coast, making stops at The Beacon Theatre in New York City, Boston’s Rockland Trust Bank Pavilion, and The Met in Philly.

Primus then heads north for a show in Canada, Rush’s homeland, at RBC Echo Beach in Toronto. After shows in the Midwest, the band will wrap up their tribute tour on the west coast, with their closing show being held at Arizona Federal Theatre in Phoenix, AZ.
