UPDATE
Exciting news on the QOTSA front! Last time we updated on the band, they were in the studio recording their new album, the first since 2007, when they released Era Vulgaris. With Dave Grohl on the drums, lead singer and guitarist Josh Homme has stated that the new songs “sound like running in a dream” (source: NME). Adding to that may be the fact that Trent Reznor is also in the studio recording with the band.
What’s exciting is that we now have a release time frame for the album. The new tunes will hit the general public during the month of March. There are no specifics yet as to the exact date, but fans can now circle the whole month of March as they wait for the release.
We’ll keep bringing you all the latest info on the new Queens of the Stone Age album and of course any tour news as it is unveiled.
UPDATE
With Queens of the Stone Age set to play numerous festivals so far in 2013 – from Lollapalooza in Chile and Brazil to festivals in Switzerland, the United Kingdom,
Finland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Hungary and Poland came the news below that they are also in the studio recording their latest album, slated to drop sometime in 2013. One of their regular partners involved with in the studio is Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. Grohl will also be involved with the new album, playing drums as he has done in the past.
However, Grohl has made it clear he will not be joining the band in 2013 as they tour the globe. On the other hand however, Grohl hopes to get back in the studio with QOTSA frontman Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones to reunite for a new Them Crooked Vultures album. Stay tuned for more details on that front.
