Ray LaMontagne Tour

Singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne has just announced plans for a summer tour around the United States and Canada. Dubbed the Supernova Tour, it kicks off on May 27 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME, and then moves through Shelburne, VT; Boston, MA; Pittsburgh, PA; Camden, NJ; Toronto, ON; Chicago, IL; Orlando, FL; Birmingham, AL; Miami, FL; Memphis, TN; Dallas, TX; and many, many more (the 42-date tour runs from May through August). Support for the tour comes in the form of The Belle Brigade on all dates, with Jason Isbell and Jenny Lewis joining on select dates. Why is LaMontagne touring? Well, he’s got an album (of the same name) coming out. Supernova is due out May 6 via RCA Records (his first since 2010). Tickets for the tour are on sale now.

Born in Nashua, NH in 1973, Ray LaMontagne has released four studio albums to date. His music has been compared to Otis Redding, The Band, Van Morrison, and Nick Drake for its soulful, melodic feel and primarily acoustic accompaniments. He has a unique vocal style, as well, which he says is creating by singing through his gut rather than singing through his nose.
