Singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne will play a series of acoustic sets throughout the US this coming November. The intimate performances are designed to feature LaMontagne at his folksiest, bluesiest best, communing directly with the audience (there’ll be no opening act) at smaller venues spanning the East Coast and Midwest.

An odd breed, even for a profession swimming with proverbial ugly ducklings, LaMontagne resisted becoming a musician for years. Instead of taking the path his father had chosen, the future “Trouble” artist spent his childhood reading fantasy novels in the forests by his New Hampshire home, eventually finding work in a shoe factory. It wasn’t until LaMontagne listened to his first Stephen Stills album that he gave into the fateful pull of genetics, quitting factory life in favor of touring the open road. His unconventional path to fame and widespread acclaim has only helped the former Dungeons and Dragons enthusiast stand out by informing his unique vocals – those which Esquire magazine has said comprise the industry’s “Best Voice.”
